Product Overview
Description:
Mouse gastric lipase (LIPF) ELISA kit (0.5-120 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of LIPF in mice samples with a range of 0.5-120 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.21 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit is an ELISA based on the sandwich principle. The plate is pre-coated with a mouse LIPF antibody. LIPF present in the sample binds to the immobilized antibodies, followed by the addition of a biotinylated mouse LIPF detection antibody. Subsequently, streptavidin-HRP is introduced to bind the biotinylated antibody. After incubation, unbound streptavidin-HRP is removed during a washing step. Substrate solution is added, and color develops in direct proportion to the amount of mouse LIPF. An acidic stop solution terminates the reaction, and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background:
LIPF is a lipase primarily secreted by gastric chief cells, responsible for hydrolyzing dietary triglycerides in the stomach to initiate fat digestion. The association between LIPF and obesity primarily relates to the initial digestion of dietary fats and energy absorption: LIPF activity directly influences the efficiency of fat absorption in the small intestine. Studying the effects of drugs or dietary interventions on LIPF activity aids in understanding and regulating dietary fat absorption rates, thereby impacting total energy intake and weight control.
Synonyms:
Pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase; PNLIP; PL; PTL; PNLIPD
