Product Overview
Description:
Mouse interleukin 6 (IL-6) ELISA kit (7.8-500 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of IL-6 in mouse samples with a range of 7.8-500 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <2.7 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This kit employs a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The provided microplate has been pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to IL6. Standards or samples are pipetted into the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for IL6. Subsequently, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each well and incubated to form an immobilized immune complex. Following a wash step to remove unbound reagents, a TMB substrate solution is introduced. Color development occurs exclusively in wells containing the IL6-biotin-avidin complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated by adding a sulphuric acid stop solution, and the resulting color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of IL6 in the specimens is then determined by comparing the optical density (O.D.) of the samples against the established standard curve.
Background:
IL-6 is a cytokine with broad biological functions. As a key signaling molecule, it plays a central role in the acute phase response—the body's rapid systemic reaction to inflammation, infection, or injury. Belonging to the IL-6 superfamily, it acts on multiple cell types, including immune cells (B cells, T cells) and hepatocytes. Its primary functions include: immunoregulation and metabolic effects. As a key biological factor in obesity research, IL-6 has demonstrated therapeutic potential for treating obesity.
Synonyms:
IL6; MGI2-A; MGI2A; HGF; BSF2; HSF; IFNB2; B-Cell Stimulatory Factor-2; Hybridoma/Plasmacytoma growth factor; Hepatocyte stimulating factor; Cytotoxic T-cell differentiation factor
Applications:
Mouse interleukin 6 (IL-6) ELISA kit (7.8-500 pg/mL) is used to quantify IL-6 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including cytokine, tumor immunity, Infection immunity, cardiovascular biology, obesity, etc.
