Product Overview
Description:
Monkey melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of MC4R in monkey samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on MC4R antibody-MC4R antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MC4R antigen targets in samples.
Background:
MC4R regulates adipogenesis and energy homeostasis by activating multiple intracellular and/or synaptic signaling molecules, while also modulating neural circuits. Its association with obesity has been well established. Studies reveal that MC4R mutations result in partial or complete loss of function, primarily linked to severe obesity. It is considered a potential monogenic cause of human obesity and represents a key therapeutic target for the disease.
Synonyms:
MC4R; Melanocortin receptor 4; MC4-R
Applications:
Monkey melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) ELISA kit is used to quantify MC4R in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, tissue homogenate of monkey, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, metabolism, obesity, etc.
