Description:
LipoKnoxa™ Human ARL6 shRNA AAV Particle (Silencing) targets the small GTPase BBS3, which is required for the entry of the BBSome into the primary cilium. Engineered with both high-potency U6 and physiologically refined miR30-based shRNA, this tool allows researchers to model ciliary-dependent satiety signaling. Multiple AAV serotypes are provided to ensure optimal delivery. Every batch is validated through comprehensive quality control, including high-precision titering and mycoplasma testing.

Summary:
ARL6 (also known as BBS3) encodes a small GTP-binding protein belonging to the ARF-like family. It serves as a molecular switch that regulates the movement of cargo along the intracellular "highways" of the cell, specifically directed toward the primary cilium. Mutations in ARL6 disrupt this traffic, causing Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Because the primary cilium is the essential antenna for receptors that signal satiety, the trafficking defects caused by ARL6 mutations result in the inability of the brain to sense "fullness," leading to the characteristic obesity seen in BBS patients.
