Product Overview
Description:
Human visfatin (VF) ELISA kit-Quantitative competitive is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VF in human samples with a range of 1.23-100 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.59 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This assay utilizes the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to VF is pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is initiated between biotin-labeled VF and unlabeled VF (standards or samples) for the limited binding sites on the immobilized antibody. Following incubation, unbound conjugates are removed by washing. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. The quantity of bound HRP conjugate is inversely proportional to the concentration of VF in the sample. After the addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of the developed color is inversely proportional to the concentration of VF present in the specimen.
Background:
Visfatin (VF) is a secreted adipokine and intracellular enzyme involved in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) biosynthesis. It plays a role in regulating glucose metabolism, insulin secretion, and inflammatory responses, and is expressed in adipose tissue as well as other organs. By linking metabolic and inflammatory pathways, visfatin contributes to the maintenance of energy homeostasis and cellular function.
Synonyms:
Pre-B-cell colony enhancing factor; Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase; Nampt; NAmPRTase; PBEF; PBEF1
Applications:
Human visfatin (VF) ELISA kit-Quantitative competitive is used to quantify VF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids of humans, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, cardiovascular biology, hepatology, obesity, and others.
