Product Overview
Description:
Human neuropeptide Y receptor Y5 (NPY5R) ELISA kit (0.312-20 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NPY5R in human samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.108 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate included in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to NPY5R. Standards or samples are introduced into the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for NPY5R. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate solution, only those wells containing the NPY5R-biotin-avidin sandwich complex will exhibit a colorimetric change. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of NPY5R in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
NPY5R is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY). These are key signaling molecules regulating appetite within the brain. When NPY5R is activated, it inhibits adenylate cyclase activity via its G protein, thereby triggering cellular responses. As a central control point regulating appetite and feeding behavior, it serves as a critical target in obesity research.

NPY-Y5 receptor
