Product Overview

Description: Human ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (0.05-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in human samples with a range of 0.05-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.01 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This kit features a microplate pre-coated with a human GHRL capture antibody. GHRL from the sample is captured, followed by the addition of a biotinylated human GHRL detection antibody and streptavidin-HRP. After a wash step, a substrate solution is added. Color develops in direct proportion to the amount of human GHRL present. The reaction is halted with an acidic stop solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Human ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (0.05-10 ng/mL) is used to quantify GHRL in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, and tissue homogenates of human, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
