Product Overview

Description: Human estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (35,547 Da) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ER in human. The kit is highly specific, sensitive, and easy to use.
Assay Principle: An antibody specific for ER has been pre-coated on the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ER is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ER is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed proportionally to the amount of ER bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background: ER is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogens and their receptors play roles in sexual development, reproductive functions, bone, and other tissues. ERs are associated with various pathological processes.
Synonyms: Estradiol receptor; Oestrogen receptor; Receptors, Estrogen
Applications: Human estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (35,547 Da) is an important tool for the quantitative detection of ER in various biological samples (serum, plasma, and other biological fluids) of humans.
