Product Overview
Description:
Human estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (3.12-200 pg/mL, 0.78 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ER in human with a range of 3.12-200 pg/mL and a specificity of 0.78 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates provided in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for ER. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated ER-specific antibody preparation, and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated avidin is then added to each microtiter plate well and incubated. TMB substrate solution is then added to each well. Only wells containing ER, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of ER in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to the standard curve.
Background:
ER is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Estrogens and their receptors play roles in sexual development, reproductive functions, bone, and other tissues. ERs are associated with various pathological processes.
Synonyms:
Estradiol receptor; Oestrogen receptor; Receptors, Estrogen
Applications:
Human estrogen receptor (ER) ELISA kit (3.12-200 pg/mL, 0.78 pg/mL) is used to quantify ER in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and cell lysate samples of human, providing data to support a wide range of studies.
