Description: Human insulin like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) ELISA kit (78-5000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of IGFBP-2 in human samples with a range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 32 pg/mL. Assay Principle: The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on IGFBP-2 antibody-IGFBP-2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect IGFBP-2 antigen targets in samples.
Background: IGFBP-2 is a multifunctional molecule that plays a crucial role in human growth, metabolism, and cellular processes by regulating the biological activity of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). Primarily through binding to IGF proteins, IGFBP-2 prolongs their half-life in the body and modulates their interactions with cell surface receptors, thereby inhibiting or enhancing the pro-growth effects of IGFs. The role of IGFBP-2 in obesity has garnered increasing attention. Its reduced levels are closely associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance.
