Description: Human CYP21A2 ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CYP21A2 in human with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.057 ng/mL.

Assay Principle: The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for CYP21A2. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CYP21A2. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Only wells containing CYP21A2, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change upon addition of TMB substrate solution. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of CYP21A2 in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.

Background: CYP21A2 belongs to the Cytochrome P450 family and is essential for the adrenal synthesis of mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Deficiency of this enzyme is associated with certain diseases.
