Product Overview
Description:
Human acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACACA) ELISA kit is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing human ACACA levels with excellent specificity.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for ACACA has been pre-coated on the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ACACA is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ACACA is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated HRP is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed proportionally to the amount of ACACA bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
ACACA (also known as ACC1) is the first rate-limiting enzyme in fatty acid synthesis and is primarily responsible for converting cytoplasmic acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA. It plays a central role in fatty acid synthesis and is a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of obesity, cancer, metabolic diseases, and other disorders.
Synonyms:
ACC1; ACC-alpha; Acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase 1; EC 6.3.4.14
