Product Overview

Description: Guinea pig ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in guinea pig samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.05 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay utilizes a sandwich ELISA technique for guinea pig GHRL. The plate is pre-coated with a monoclonal capture antibody. After adding samples and washing with PBS or TBS, a biotin-labeled polyclonal detection antibody is added to form a sandwich. An avidin-peroxidase conjugate is then introduced. After a final wash, TMB substrate is added, shifting the solution color to blue and then yellow upon acidification. The color intensity is directly proportional to the sample GHRL concentration.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Guinea pig ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit is used to quantify GHRL in guinea pig serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and organizations of guinea pig, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Signal transduction; Endocrinology; Gastroenterology; Metabolism; Obesity
