Product Overview
Description:
Guinea pig C-reactive protein (CRP) ELISA kit (15.625-1000 pg/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CRP in guinea pig with a range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a specificity of 7.4 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for CRP. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for CRP. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of the TMB substrate solution, only the wells containing CRP, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The OD of the sample is then compared to a standard curve to determine the concentration of CRP in the sample.
Background:
CRP is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is considered a key plasma protein that can bind to Leptin, and its potential role in regulating leptin's function in obesity is crucial.
Synonyms:
Pentraxin-related; pentraxin 1; C-RP; PTX1
