Product Overview

Description: Donkey prostaglandin F Synthase (PGFS) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PGFS in donkey samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on PGFS antibody-PGFS antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PGFS antigen targets in samples.
Background: PGFS is a bifunctional enzyme belonging to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) family, primarily catalyzing the reduction of PGH2 to prostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha). It has also been identified as possessing aldolase activity. PGF2alpha is a crucial lipid signaling molecule involved in diverse physiological processes, including inflammation, vasoconstriction, and reproduction. PGFS and its product PGF2alpha play an essential role in obesity.
Synonyms: AK1C3; 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 5; 17-beta-HSD 5; 3-alpha-HSD type II, brain; 3-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2; 3-alpha-HSD type 2; Chlordecone reductase homolog HAKRb; Dihydrodiol dehydrogenase 3; DD-3; DD3; Dihydrodiol dehydrogenase type I; HA1753; AKR1C3; Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3; Testosterone 17-beta-dehydrogenase 5; DDH1; HSD17B5; KIAA0119
EC NO.: 1.1.1.188
Applications: Donkey prostaglandin F Synthase (PGFS) ELISA kit is used to quantify PGFS in donkey samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including inflammation, lipid metabolism, vascular biology, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Inflammation; Lipid metabolism; Vascular biology; Obesity
