Product Overview

Description: Chicken elongation of very long chain fatty acids protein 6 (ELOVL6) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ELOVL6 in chicken.
Assay Principle: An antibody specific for ELOVL6 has been pre-coated on the microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ELOVL6 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ELOVL6 is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of ELOVL6 bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background: ELOVL6 is an endoplasmic reticulum-resident enzyme that catalyzes the elongation of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids with 12 to 16 carbons.
