Product Overview
Description:
Canine lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) ELISA kit-Quantitative competitive is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of LBP in canine samples with a range of 2.5-50 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This LBP ELISA kit utilizes the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for LBP. Standards or samples are introduced into the wells, allowing LBP to bind to the immobilized antibody. To quantify the target, a standardized preparation of HRP-conjugated polyclonal antibody specific for LBP is added to "sandwich" the captured LBP. After incubation and a thorough wash cycle, substrate solutions are added. Only wells containing the LBP complex will exhibit a color change. The reaction is terminated with sulphuric acid, and the O.D. is measured at 450 nm. The LBP concentration is then interpolated from a standard curve.
Background:
LBP is a secreted protein primarily present in the extracellular space. Its core function is to bind bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a glycolipid found on the outer membrane of all Gram-negative bacteria. LBP is significant in obesity research because it plays a pivotal role in the link between inflammation, gut microbiota, and metabolic health. By studying LBP's mechanisms of action and its level changes, scientists can better understand how obesity leads to systemic inflammation and insulin resistance, potentially developing therapies targeting LBP or its associated signaling pathways.
Synonyms:
LPS-binding protein
