Product Overview
Description:
Bovine visfatin (VF) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VF in porcine samples with a range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.115 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The methodology employed in this kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The provided microtiter plate is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to VF. Standards or samples are introduced into the designated wells along with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody preparation specific for VF. Subsequently, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon the addition of TMB substrate solution, color development occurs exclusively in wells containing the VF-biotin-avidin sandwich complex. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is recorded spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of VF in the samples is determined by comparing the optical density (O.D.) of the specimens to the established standard curve.
Background:
Visfatin (VF) is a secreted adipokine and intracellular enzyme involved in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) biosynthesis. It plays a role in regulating glucose metabolism, insulin secretion, and inflammatory responses, and is expressed in adipose tissue as well as other organs. By linking metabolic and inflammatory pathways, visfatin contributes to the maintenance of energy homeostasis and cellular function.
Synonyms:
Pre-B-cell colony enhancing factor; Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase; Nampt; NAmPRTase; PBEF; PBEF1
Applications:
Bovine visfatin (VF) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is used to quantify VF in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids of bovine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, cardiovascular biology, hepatology, obesity, and others.
