Product Overview
Description:
Bovine protein farnesyltransferase/geranylgeranyltransferase type-1 subunit alpha (FNTA) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of FNTA in bovine samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on FNTA antibody-FNTA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FNTA antigen targets in samples.
Background:
FNTA catalyzes the transfer of a farnesyl or geranyl-geranyl moiety from farnesyl or geranyl-geranyl pyrophosphate to a cysteine at the fourth position from the C-terminus of several proteins having the C-terminal sequence Cys-aliphatic-aliphatic-X. It indirectly influences metabolism, adipocyte differentiation, and other processes by affecting protein activity, potentially linking it to obesity.
Synonyms:
PTAR2; PGGT1A; Protein prenyltransferase alpha subunit repeat containing 2; CAAX farnesyltransferase subunit alpha; Ras proteins prenyltransferase subunit alpha; FNTa; Farnesyltransferase alpha
Applications:
Bovine protein farnesyltransferase/geranylgeranyltransferase type-1 subunit alpha (FNTA) ELISA kit is used to quantify FNTA in bovine samples, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolism, signal transduction, obesity, and others.
