Product Overview
Description:
Bovine glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GSH-Px in bovine samples with a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This GSH-Px ELISA kit utilizes a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique featuring a polyclonal anti-GSH-Px antibody and a GSH-Px-HRP conjugate. Samples and assay buffer are incubated with the GSH-Px-HRP conjugate in a pre-coated microplate for one hour. During this process, endogenous GSH-Px from the sample competes with the GSH-Px-HRP conjugate for a limited number of antibody binding sites. After the incubation period, the wells are washed five times. An HRP substrate is then added, forming a blue complex that turns yellow upon the addition of a stop solution. The absorbance is measured at 450 nm, where the color intensity is inversely proportional to the GSH-Px concentration. A standard curve is generated to relate the O.D. to standard concentrations, from which the GSH-Px level in each sample is interpolated.
Background:
Glutathione peroxidase is a family of antioxidant enzymes widely distributed throughout the human body. Their core function is to protect cells from oxidative damage. Obesity itself is considered a chronic low-grade inflammatory state, often accompanied by significant oxidative stress. Glutathione peroxidase is a potential regulator of obesity.
Synonyms:
GPXP; GPx-3; GSHPx-3; GPx-P; GSHPx-P; GPX3
Applications:
Bovine glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) ELISA kit is used to quantify GSH-Px in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of bovine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including oxidative stress, metabolism, obesity, and others.
