Product Overview
Description:
Bovine branched-chain amino acid aminotransferase 2 (BCAT2) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of BCAT2 in bovine with highly sensitivity.
Assay Principle:
An antibody specific for BCAT2 has been pre-coated onto a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any BCAT2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removal of unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for BCAT2 is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the amount of BCAT2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped, and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:
BCAT2 is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the first step in the catabolism of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).
Synonyms:
Branched-chain-amino-acid aminotransferase, mitochondrial; BCAT(m); Bcatm; Eca40
Applications:
Bovine branched-chain amino acid aminotransferase 2 (BCAT2) ELISA kit is an important tool for the quantitative detection of BCAT2 in various biological samples (serum, plasma, and other biological fluids) of bovine.
