Product Overview
Description:
Sheep glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GSH-Px in sheep samples with a range of 0-100 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 1.0 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
This GSH-Px ELISA kit applies a competitive enzyme immunoassay format utilizing a monoclonal anti-GSH-Px antibody and a GSH-Px-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated with the GSH-Px-HRP conjugate in the pre-coated microplate for one hour. Endogenous GSH-Px and the GSH-Px-HRP conjugate compete for the limited binding sites on the immobilized monoclonal antibody. After the incubation period, the plate is decanted and washed five times. An HRP substrate is then added to produce a blue colored product, which shifts to yellow after the reaction is terminated with the stop solution. The color intensity, measured at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to the GSH-Px concentration. By plotting a standard curve of O.D. versus concentration, the GSH-Px concentration in each sample is accurately determined.
Background:
Glutathione peroxidase is a family of antioxidant enzymes widely distributed throughout the human body. Their core function is to protect cells from oxidative damage. Obesity itself is considered a chronic low-grade inflammatory state, often accompanied by significant oxidative stress. Glutathione peroxidase is a potential regulator of obesity.
Synonyms:
GPXP; GPx-3; GSHPx-3; GPx-P; GSHPx-P; GPX3
Applications:
Sheep glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) ELISA kit is used to quantify GSH-Px in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, and tissue homogenate of sheep, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including oxidative stress, metabolism, obesity, and others.
