Description:
Rat very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) ELISA kit (0.781-50 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of VLDLR in rat samples with a range of 0.781-50 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.31 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific to VLDLR. Standards or samples are added to the wells with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody. Next, avidin-conjugated HRP is introduced and incubated. After adding the TMB substrate solution, color development occurs in proportion to the VLDLR-biotin-enzyme complex present. The reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The final VLDLR concentration is determined by comparing the sample O.D. values to the standard curve.
Background:
VLDLR, situated at chromosomal location 9p24, is a multifunctional transmembrane receptor essential for the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of VLDL and the orchestration of Reelin-driven signaling pathways during nervous system development. While its genetic defects are primarily linked to CMARQ1, characterized by cerebellar hypoplasia and developmental delays, its metabolic role is critical for lipid transport and systemic cholesterol homeostasis.
