Product Overview
Description:
Rat glutamine synthetase (GS) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GS in rat samples with a range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 5.8 pg/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The provided microtiter plate is pre-immobilized with an antibody specific to GS. Standards or samples are introduced into the wells, followed by a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation. Next, avidin-HRP is added and incubated. After the addition of TMB substrate, a color change occurs in wells containing the target GS complex. The enzyme-substrate reaction is halted by adding a sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of GS in the samples is calculated by comparing their O.D. values to the established standard curve.
Background:
GS is a key metabolic enzyme whose primary function is to catalyze the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia. Glutamine is one of the most abundant amino acids in the body and plays vital roles in numerous physiological processes, including nitrogen metabolism, acid-base balance, cell proliferation, and serving as a precursor for the synthesis of other molecules. Given its potential impact on metabolic regulation and neural signaling, GS may be associated with obesity.
Synonyms:
GLNS; GLUL; Glutamate-ammonia ligase; Glutamate decarboxylase
Applications:
Rat glutamine synthetase (GS) ELISA kit is used to quantify GS in serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids of rat, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including enzyme & kinase, obesity, and others.
