Product Overview
Description:
Rat apolipoprotein C-III (apo-CIII) ELISA kit (1.56-100 ng/mL, <0.65 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of apo-CIII in rats with a range of 1.56-100 ng/mL and a specificity of <0.65 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for Apo-CIII. Standards or samples are added to the corresponding microtiter plate wells and the biotin-conjugated Apo-CIII-specific antibody. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter well and incubated. Only those wells containing Apo-CIII, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change upon addition of TMB substrate solution. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The OD of the sample is then compared to a standard curve to determine the concentration of Apo-CIII in the sample.
Background:
Apolipoprotein C-III is secreted by the liver and small intestine. It is a very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) protein that inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase. Studies have found that it plays a key role in the metabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRLs).
Synonyms:
ApoC-III ; ApoCIII; Apo C-III; Apo C III; Apolipoprotein CIII; APOC3
