Product Overview
Description:
Rat acyl-coA desaturase 1 (Scd1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of Scd1 in rat samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of <0.065 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on Scd1 antibody-Scd1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Scd1 antigen targets in samples.
Background:
Scd1 catalyzes the conversion of saturated fatty acids into monounsaturated fatty acids (e.g., stearic acid to oleic acid). The core function of Scd1 is to maintain membrane fluidity and lipid signaling. Abnormalities in Scd1 activity and expression are closely associated with insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis, and metabolic syndrome. Inhibition of Scd1 has been shown to improve obesity-related metabolic disorders in mice samples.
Synonyms:
EC 1.14.19.1; Delta(9)-desaturase 1; Fatty acid desaturase 1; Stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1
EC NO.:
1.14.19.1
