Product Overview

Description: Rabbit glucocorticoid receptor-beta (GR-β) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GR-β in rabbit samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This coated-well immunoenzymatic assay provides quantitative measurement of GR-β using a monoclonal anti-GR-β antibody and a GR-β-HRP conjugate. The competitive reaction between sample GR-β and the HRP conjugate occurs during a one-hour incubation in the pre-coated plate. After five washes, the enzyme-substrate reaction produces a blue complex that turns yellow upon stabilization with the stop solution. The intensity of the color, measured at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to the concentration of GR-β. By running standards concurrently, a curve relating O.D. to concentration is plotted to interpolate the GR-β levels in each sample.
Background: GR-β is a splice isoform of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). Unlike the physiologically active GR-α we are familiar with, GR-β cannot bind glucocorticoids and thus cannot mediate the classical glucocorticoid signaling pathway. Its primary function is believed to be the negative regulation of GR-α activity. It can form heterodimers with GR-α, preventing GR-α from entering the cell nucleus and binding to DNA, thereby inhibiting GR-α-mediated gene transcription. Consequently, GR-β is regarded as an endogenous inhibitor or antagonist of glucocorticoid action. Changes in GR-β levels may be associated with diseases such as obesity.
Synonyms: GRb; GR-beta
Applications: Rabbit glucocorticoid receptor-beta (GR-β) ELISA kit is used to quantify GR-β in cell culture fluid, body fluid, tissue homogenate, serum, and blood plasma of rabbit, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, hormone metabolism, obesity, and others.
