Description: Pigeon glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GLUT2 in pigeon samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.

Assay Principle: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantify GLUT2. An antibody specific for GLUT2 is pre-coated onto the microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, allowing the immobilized antibody to bind any present GLUT2. After removing unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for GLUT2 is added. Following a wash, streptavidin-HRP is introduced. After a final wash to remove unbound enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added; color develops in proportion to the amount of GLUT2 bound in the initial step. The reaction is stopped, and the color intensity is measured.

Background: GLUT2 is a crucial glucose transporter expressed in tissues such as the liver, pancreatic β-cells, and the intestine. It mediates bidirectional glucose transport and is essential for maintaining blood glucose homeostasis. Dysfunction of GLUT2, particularly its disruption in pancreatic β-cells, may impair insulin secretion and thus be implicated in obesity-related metabolic disorders.
