Product Overview
Description:
Mouse Perilipin 1 (PLIN1) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of PLIN1 in mouse samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.055 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The provided microtiter plate is pre-immobilized with a capture antibody specific to PLIN1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate wells with a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for PLIN1. Subsequently, Avidin-conjugated HRP is introduced to the wells and incubated. After adding the TMB substrate solution, color develops only in wells where the PLIN1 "sandwich" complex has formed. The reaction is halted by the addition of sulphuric acid, and the resulting color change is measured at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The PLIN1 concentration is then interpolated by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Background:
PLIN1 is an adipocyte-specific lipid-binding protein that localizes to lipid droplets and plays a central role in regulating lipid storage and mobilization. By coating lipid droplets, PLIN1 protects stored triacylglycerols from basal hydrolysis while enabling controlled lipolysis in response to hormonal stimulation through phosphorylation by cAMP-dependent protein kinase. This dynamic regulation of lipid breakdown is essential for maintaining adipocyte lipid homeostasis. Dysregulation or mutation of PLIN1 impairs normal lipolytic control and fat storage, contributing to abnormal adipose tissue function and is closely associated with obesity and related metabolic disorders, including familial partial lipodystrophy.
Synonyms:
PERI; Lipid droplet associated protein
Applications:
Mouse Perilipin 1 (PLIN1) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL) is used to quantify PLIN1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids of mouse, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including metabolic pathways, obesity, and others.
