Product Overview
Description:
Human estrogen receptor α (ERα) ELISA kit (0.625-40 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of ERα in human with a range of 0.625-40 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.255 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for ERα. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with the biotin-conjugated ERα-specific antibody preparation. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of TMB substrate solution, only wells containing ERα, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of ERα in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
ERα, a member of the steroid receptor superfamily, contains highly conserved DNA-binding and ligand-binding domains. It is activated by the sex hormone estrogen and is involved in the physiological development and function of various organ systems.
Synonyms:
Estrogen receptor alpha; ESR1; ERa; NR3A1; EC 3.1.1.3
