Product Overview
Description:
Human carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of CES1 in human with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a specificity of <0.072 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for CES1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for CES1. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microplate well and incubated. Upon addition of TMB substrate solution, only wells containing CES1, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is then measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 10 nm. The concentration of CES1 in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
Background:
CES1 is a major enzyme found primarily in the liver that hydrolyzes ester and thioester bonds, playing a critical role in the metabolism of numerous drugs and lipids.
Synonyms:
ACAT; CEH; CES2; HMSE1; PCE1; SES1; TGH; Retinyl ester hydrolase; Serine esterase 1; Triacylglycerol hydrolase; Egasyn; Cocaine carboxylesterase; Liver Carboxylesterase 1
