Product Overview
Description:
Human butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE) ELISA kit (0.5-150 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of BCHE in human with a range of 0.5-150 ng/mL and a specificity of 0.23 ng/mL.
Assay Principle:
The plate is pre-coated with human BCHE antibody. BCHE in the sample binds to the antibody coated on the wells upon addition. Biotinylated human BCHE antibody is then added and binds to BCHE in the sample. Streptavidin-HRP is then added to bind to the biotinylated BCHE antibody. After incubation, unbound streptavidin-HRP is washed out in a wash step. The substrate solution is then added, and the color is developed in proportion to the human BCHE content. The reaction is terminated by the addition of an acidic termination solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background:
BCHE is a non-specific cholinesterase that has broad substrate specificity and is involved in detoxification reactions, drug metabolism, among other processes.
Synonyms:
BuChE; CHE1; E1; Pseudocholinesterase; Cholinesterase; Acylcholine acylhydrolase; Butyrylcholine esterase; Choline esterase II; EC 3.1.1.8
