Product Overview
Description:
Human agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (2-600 pg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing human AGRP levels with a detection range of 2-600 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 1.01 pg/mL.
Assay Principle:
The plates are pre-coated with human AGRP antibody. AGRP added to the sample binds to the antibody coated on the wells. Biotinylated human AGRP antibody is then added and binds to AGRP in the sample. Streptavidin-HRP is then added to bind to the biotinylated AGRP antibody. After incubation, unbound streptavidin-HRP is washed out. The substrate solution is then added, and the color is developed in proportion to the human AGRP content. The reaction is terminated by the addition of an acidic termination solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
Background:
AGRP plays a role in body weight homeostasis, is involved in the control of eating behavior through the central melanocortin system, and acts as an inverse agonist of MC3R and MC4R, thereby inhibiting their constitutive activity. Genetic variants in AGRP may be responsible for obesity.
Synonyms:
Agouti-related peptide; ASIP2
Applications:
Human agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (2-600 pg/mL) is designed for the in vitro quantitative analysis of AGRP levels in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, and tissue homogenate samples.
