Description: Hamster adiponectin (ADP) ELISA kit (26,133 Da) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing hamster ADP levels with high specificity and sensitivity.

Assay Principle: The assay uses a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantify ADP in the sample. An antibody specific for ADP is pre-coated on a microtiter plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, and any ADP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing unbound material, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ADP is added to the wells. After washing, streptavidin-conjugated HRP is added to the wells. After washing to remove unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color is developed in proportion to the amount of ADP bound in the first step. The color development is stopped, and then the color intensity is measured.

Background: ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
