Product Overview

Description: Chicken ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL, 0.05 ng/mL) is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of GHRL in chicken samples with a range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a minimum detectable dose (sensitivity) of 0.05 ng/mL. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay employs a sandwich ELISA technique to quantify GHRL. The plate is pre-coated with a chicken GHRL monoclonal capture antibody. Following sample addition and a wash with PBS or TBS, a biotin-labeled polyclonal detection antibody is added. Subsequently, an avidin-peroxidase conjugate is introduced. After a final wash, TMB substrate is added, producing a blue color that turns yellow upon adding acid. The final intensity is directly proportional to the GHRL concentration.
Background: Ghrelin is a peptide hormone primarily secreted by the stomach, exerting its effects by binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It plays multiple roles in the body, but its most well-known function is regulating energy balance and appetite. Research indicates that ghrelin levels and their regulation of appetite may be abnormal in obese individuals. It is considered a key target for developing anti-obesity drugs.
Synonyms: MTLRP; Preproghrelin; Growth hormone secretagogue receptor ligand; Appetite-regulating hormone; Growth hormone-releasing peptide; Motilin-related peptide
Applications: Chicken ghrelin (GHRL) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL, 0.05 ng/mL) is used to quantify GHRL in chicken serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant of chicken, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, endocrinology, gastroenterology, metabolism, obesity, and others.
Research Area: Signal transduction; Endocrinology; Gastroenterology; Metabolism; Obesity
