Product Overview
Description:
Canine Niemann-Pick C1 protein ELISA kit is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of Niemann-Pick C1 protein in canine samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle:
The ELISA analytical biochemical technique is based on Niemann-Pick C1 protein antibody-Niemann-Pick C1 protein antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Niemann-Pick C1 protein antigen targets in samples.
Background:
NPC1 is a transmembrane protein localized to the late endosomal/lysosomal membrane, whose core physiological function involves cholesterol and lipid transport and homeostasis regulation within cells. Defects in NPC1 function lead to Niemann-Pick disease type C (NPC), a rare hereditary neurodegenerative disorder characterized by abnormal accumulation of cholesterol and specific lipids within lysosomes. Research has also revealed a potential link to obesity.
Synonyms:
Niemann-Pick disease, type C1; NPC1
Applications:
Canine Niemann-Pick C1 protein ELISA kit is used to quantify Niemann-Pick C1 protein in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid, tissue homogenate of canine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including neurobiology, obesity, etc.
