Product Overview

Description: Canine neuropeptide Y receptor Y5 (NPY5R) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is an ELISA-based in vitro research tool designed specifically for the quantitative detection of NPY5R in canine samples. The kit is highly sensitive and easy to use.
Assay Principle: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA technique for the quantification of NPY5R in samples. A specific antibody for NPY5R is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells, where any NPY5R present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After the removal of unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated detection antibody specific for NPY5R is added. Following a wash step, Streptavidin-conjugated HRP is introduced. After a final wash to remove any unbound reagents, a substrate solution is added, and color develops in proportion to the amount of NPY5R bound. The reaction is terminated, and the color intensity is measured.
Background: NPY5R is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to neuropeptide Y (NPY) and peptide YY (PYY). These are key signaling molecules regulating appetite within the brain. When NPY5R is activated, it inhibits adenylate cyclase activity via its G protein, thereby triggering cellular responses. As a central control point regulating appetite and feeding behavior, it serves as a critical target in obesity research.
Synonyms: NPY-Y5 receptor
Applications: Canine neuropeptide Y receptor Y5 (NPY5R) ELISA kit-Quantitative sandwich is used to quantify NPY5R in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids of canine, providing data to support research in a wide range of areas, including signal transduction, obesity, etc.
