Product Overview
Description:
AdipoUpX™ Human ATF6 Ad5 Adenoviral Particle (Overexpression) is engineered for efficient overexpression of the human ATF6 gene, a key sensor of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. This product serves as a powerful gene delivery tool for investigating the unfolded protein response (UPR) and its links to insulin resistance and high cholesterol. Every batch undergoes comprehensive QC, including titer, sterility, and mycoplasma testing, to ensure experimental reproducibility and safety.
Production Cell Line:
HEK293
Viral Backbone:
Adenovirus type5 (dE1/E3)
Promoter:
CMV
Product Availability:
Produced Upon Order
Specification
Titer Test:
qPCR
Insert Verification:
All viral preparations have been validated via PCR to confirm the integrity of their vector genomes.
Sterility Test:
This product was confirmed to be sterile upon testing.
Mycoplasma Test:
This product has passed quality control, confirming that it is free of mycoplasma contamination.
Other QC:
We perform customized supplementary testing and in vitro/in vivo transduction assessments based on specific project requirements to analyze the expression levels and biological functions of transgenes.
Storage:
Upon receipt of viral preparations, they must be immediately transferred to a -80°C environment for long-term storage.
Stability:
The product guarantees excellent stability for 6-12 months when stored continuously at -80°C (and in some cases, up to 2 years). Upon thawing, the working solution is refrigerated at 4°C for up to 2-3 weeks without significant loss of biological activity.
Shipping Condition:
Our adenovirus viral products are shipped using dry ice.
Handling Notes:
Viral particles are highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations and freeze-thaw cycles. To maintain titer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, it is recommended to aliquot the vector immediately upon receipt into low-protein-binding tubes and store according to specified conditions. Ensure all operations are performed within a biosafety cabinet.
Intended Use:
This product is intended for research use only and is not for use in diagnosis or therapeutic applications.
Product Disclaimer:
Our company is committed to product quality, and all products have undergone rigorous internal QC inspections. Given the diversity and complexity of experimental conditions, we do not guarantee product performance or experimental results in any specific application. Users bear ultimate responsibility for product storage, handling, and compliance with all safety protocols, laws, regulations, and biosafety requirements throughout all operational processes.

Summary:
ATF6 encodes an endoplasmic reticulum–resident transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in coordinating the unfolded protein response (UPR) under conditions of ER stress. Unlike classical transcription factors, ATF6 is synthesized as a type I transmembrane protein embedded in the ER membrane, where it functions as a stress sensor and signal transducer. Upon ER stress, ATF6 undergoes regulated intramembrane proteolysis, releasing an active fragment that migrates to the nucleus and binds ER stress response elements (ERSEs) within promoters of ER chaperone genes. Dysregulated ER stress signaling is a key feature of obesity-associated metabolic tissues, linking ATF6 activity to insulin resistance and lipid imbalance. Genetic variants in ATF6 have shown population-dependent associations with diabetes, while other polymorphisms correlate with elevated plasma cholesterol. ATF6 has also been described as a survival factor in quiescent squamous carcinoma cells and represents a potential therapeutic target for cystic fibrosis.
