Chemical-induced Obesity Model
InquiryOverview of the Chemical-induced Obesity Model
In the vast field of Anti-Obesity Preclinical Research exploration, Protheragen is committed to providing high-level In Vivo Obesity Models to help our clients gain a deeper understanding of the pathological mechanisms of obesity. Depending on the research needs of different clients, our company offers personalized chemical-induced obesity models. Through chemical-induced obesity modeling, we explore the complex mechanisms of obesity development in greater depth.
Accurately Constructing Obesity Models with Us Using Chemo-induction
Our researchers use certain chemicals to influence animal metabolism, thereby promoting obesity. We provide our clients with robust chemical-induced animal models.
Chemical-induced Modeling
Experimental animal selection: Our professional bio-researchers select healthy, young animals of similar weight as experimental subjects. Our company offers a wide range of animal models including Mammalian and non-mammalian models.
Chemical induction: We provide specialized chemo induction services during specific periods after birth (e.g. neonatal period). We control the onset and development of obesity by adjusting the dosage and administration of chemicals.
Feeding and management: We place the induced animals in a standard rearing environment with free access to food and water and regularly observe their growth and development.
Model evaluation: We provide accurate assessment services including testing of body weight, body fat content, blood glucose, blood lipids, and other metrics.
Monitoring System
We are concerned about other effects these chemicals may have on animal behavior and physiology to assess their safety more fully. While ensuring the accuracy of our models, we also aim to optimize experimental conditions to reduce animal discomfort.
For this reason, we have specially introduced an advanced monitoring system to track the behavioral and physiological indicators of the animals in real-time, so that any abnormal reactions are detected in time and the experimental protocol is adjusted accordingly.
Workflow
Our company has extensive operational experience in the construction and evaluation of chemically induced obesity models. We provide a one-stop service from experimental design to data analysis. Our researchers provide professional solutions according to clients' different research needs, including selection of experimental animals (breed, sex), selection of induction factors, and selection of culture conditions. We provide adaptive feeding, modeling treatment, and regular testing services to ensure the construction of high-quality animal models. Our company has a professional data analysis team to help clients quickly screen effective data.
Applications
- Energy metabolism regulation research: Chemical-induced obesity model can be used to observe changes in energy metabolism in animals, including the regulatory mechanisms of energy intake, expenditure, and storage.
- Neuroendocrine system observation: Chemical-induced obesity model provides a powerful tool for studying the relationship between obesity and the neuroendocrine system.
- Drug evaluation and screening: Chemical-induced obesity model can be used to assess the efficacy and safety of drugs for metabolic diseases.
Advantages of Us
- Based on a high-quality analytical team, we provide not only biochemical tests but also histopathological examinations to ensure optimal obesity modeling.
- Our company pays particular attention to the effects of chemicals on the animals themselves, so our researchers conduct a thorough analysis, characterization, and toxicity assessment of the chemicals used.
- We precisely control the process of obesity onset and progression by adjusting factors such as the type of chemical, dosage, and duration of action.
Discover the Mysteries of Obesity with Us
The discovery of obesity-associated targets is a key step in the development of new drugs, as is the search for key-switches in the complex web of life, with the aim of restoring health by controlling these switches. These targets can be specific proteins, genes or cellular processes that play a key role in the pathogenesis of disease.
With the discovery of relevant targets, the identification of different therapies has advanced. Drug therapies, as the most common therapeutic approach, affect the function of specific targets, such as enzymes, receptors, ion channels, etc., through the binding of drugs to them, which in turn produces a therapeutic effect. Depending on the research needs of different clients, we offer several types of therapies.

Results: In this study, researchers used a streptozotocin (STZ)-induced rat model to evaluate the efficacy of the drug. Type 2 diabetes was induced by a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ (100 mg/kg) into rat pups. A series of index tests and factor assessments were performed to improve the reliability and utility of the STZ-induced diabetic rat model. This study provides new ideas for optimizing animal models of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an inducible animal model?
Inducible animal models are those in which researchers use physical, chemical, and biological means to cause certain damage to animal tissues, organs, or the entire body to simulate and induce specific human disease states, such as obesity, diabetes, inflammatory responses, and cancer. This process is designed to cause pathological changes in animal tissues, organs, and even the whole body, thus providing a controlled, observable, and reproducible research model.
What is the modeling mechanism of the chemically induced obesity model?
- Endocrine disruption: Some chemicals affect appetite, metabolic rate, and fat storage by interfering with the normal function of hormones.
- Metabolic changes: Some chemicals increase fat storage or decrease fat breakdown by altering the function of fat cells.
- Inflammatory response: Some chemicals affect insulin resistance and fat metabolism by triggering chronic inflammation.
