Overview

The fitness DNA test is a cutting-edge genetic analysis tool designed to tailor your fitness and exercise program to your unique genetic profile, helping you to understand how your unique genetic profile affects your health and exercise needs. By analyzing specific genetic markers associated with physical performance, muscle growth, endurance, and recovery to optimize your exercise program and support your overall health goals. By analyzing specific genetic markers, the test can be personalized to understand how your body responds to different types of exercise, including strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and flexibility exercise.

Unlock Your Best Self with DNA-Driven Fitness Insights

Protheragen is committed to providing a wide range of services related to obesity, and our team of professionals is actively involved in researching obesity. We continuously review the latest research findings to ensure that we can offer the most effective solutions for our clients. Our research covers several key areas, including exploring new treatment options through the Development of Anti-Obesity Therapeutics. Furthermore, we are dedicated to advancing Anti-Obesity Therapies and Preclinical Studies to ensure the safety and effectiveness of these new therapies as we work towards addressing the issue of obesity and improving people's health and quality of life.

Based on the above research, we provide a wide range of services to our clients, including but not limited to Obesity Causation Analysis Services, Diagnostic Tests, Obesity Prediction Services, and Obesity Biomarker Identification and Analysis Services. The details of our fitness DNA test service are as follows.

  • Sample Processing

Our lab technicians receive samples sent by clients, usually saliva samples or buccal swabs, and register and number the samples to ensure uniqueness and track records for each sample. The samples are stored under appropriate conditions to maintain their stability and integrity until analyzed.

  • DNA Extraction

We process the sample into liquid form and then isolate the DNA using chemical reagents or mechanical methods while checking the quality and quantity of the extracted DNA to ensure that it is suitable for subsequent analysis steps. The concentration and purity of the DNA of the sample to be tested are then measured.

  • Sequencing of Genome

Our experts add specific aptamers (short DNA sequences) to the ends of each DNA fragment, which are key to recognition and attachment by the sequencer. This process converts the DNA fragments into sequencing libraries for analysis in the sequencer. We then load the sample into the high-throughput sequencer. The sequencer generates a large amount of sequence data by reading the nucleotide sequence of each fragment.

  • Data Analysis and Result Interpretation

We process raw data obtained from sequencers, including data cleaning, comparison and correction, and identification of genetic variants or single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with fitness. These variants are associated with exercise capacity, recovery, muscle type, etc. Then we compare the identified genetic variants to known genetic databases containing data from scientific studies on the relationship between genes and exercise performance. Finally, we collate the results of our analyses into a detailed report, which includes information on how genes influence exercise performance and personalized fitness advice.

Applications

  • The fitness DNA test is used for exercise type selection to recommend the most suitable type of exercise, such as aerobic exercise, strength training, or flexibility training, based on genetic analysis. Different genotypes may respond differently to different types of exercise.
  • The fitness DNA test is used to provide advice on how to adjust the intensity of exercise to maximize results and reduce the risk of overtraining.
  • A fitness DNA test assesses genetically related injury risk and recommends suitable precautions and safe exercise practices to reduce the likelihood of injury.

Advantages

  • We use state-of-the-art genetic analysis techniques and equipment to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our results.
  • We combine genetic data with other health data (e.g. exercise records, dietary habits, etc.) to provide comprehensive health management advice.
  • We have a dedicated team of researchers and health experts who can provide advice and support based on the latest scientific research.

Results: This article examined the effects of a high-fat diet during pregnancy on foetal pancreatic tissue. The study used a mouse model in which female C57BL/6J mice were divided into a high-fat diet group and a control group and fed for 14 weeks. WGBS analysis revealed differentially methylated regions in male and female fetuses from the high-fat diet group and the control group. Protein expression analysis revealed that proteins associated with changes in DNA methylation played an important role in metabolic function. The findings suggest that a high-fat diet during pregnancy might increase the risk of metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, by affecting pancreatic beta cell function and apoptosis through altering DNA methylation and protein expression in fetal pancreatic tissue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the same sample in more than one test?

Generally, samples can only be used for one test. If you wish to have multiple types of genetic testing (e.g., nutrition, health risks, etc.), you may need to submit separate samples or perform different tests.

Will the test results be used for medical diagnosis?

A fitness DNA test is usually used to provide personalized fitness and health advice, not a medical diagnosis. It is not a substitute for professional medical evaluation and treatment. If you have a specific health concern, it is recommended that you consult a medical professional.

Protheragen is committed to providing superior fitness DNA test services to our valued clients. We place a high value on efficiency and reliability and endeavor to meet the diverse needs of our clients from all over the world. If you are interested in our service, please feel free to contact us for more details!
