Vitamin B7 (Biotin) test kit

Specification

Description: Vitamin B7 (Biotin) test kit is a nutritional test kit that uses the microbiology method to detect the volume of VB7 in food matrices.
Background: As one of the B vitamins, VB7 is found in cheese, milk, sardines, soybeans, egg yolks, etc. It is involved in various metabolic processes, such as fat, carbohydrate, and amino acid metabolism. In addition, VB7 also affects microbial function. Analysis of VB7 provides useful information for obesity research.
Assay Type: Quantitative assay
Assay Principle: VB9 supplies the growth of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum. Its growth rate is associated with the volume of VB7 within the sample. The VB7 medium (Lactiplantibacillus plantarum added), samples, or standards are taken and added to the microwell. Afterward, they are incubated at 37°C and protected from light. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum will start growing until VB7 is consumed entirely. It takes 44-48 hours to complete incubation. Then, a microplate reader is used to read the sample turbidity with a 610-630 nm or 540-550 nm filter. The volume of VB7 in the sample is determined by comparing the sample turbidity with the standards.
Assay Target: VB7
Research Area: Food safety; VB7 research; Obesity
Sample Type: Fruit juices; Drinks; Jelly; Milk powder; Baby food; Bakery food; Wheat flour; Dairy product; Cereal
Kit Components: Microwell plate; Cover film; Plate rack; Reagent reservoir; Package insert; Testing report; Sterile water; Biotin medium; Biotin standards; Biotin assay strain
Applications: Vitamin B7 (Biotin) test kit is used for quantitative analysis of vitamin B7 (biotin, VB7) in food matrices (added and native) to assess the impact of nutritional status on body weight.
Storage: Store at 2-8°C.
