Description:
Triglyceride (TG) assay kit (100T) is a metabolic assay for the determination of triglyceride levels with a linear range of 0.01 to 1.0 mmol/L. It is completed with the addition of a single working reagent and incubation for 30 minutes at room temperature and is suitable for use in HTS assays.
Background:
Triglycerides are major components of vegetable oils, animal fats, low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), and are carriers of fatty acids and sources of energy. Triglyceride turnover determines the utilization of fatty acids in mammalian tissues. Any dysfunction in this process may lead to changes in glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, and other diseases.

Assay Principle:
Triglyceride hydrolysis and triglyceride determination in one step using a single working reagent in which the dye reagent is oxidized to form a colored product. The intensity of the color at 570 nm is proportional to the concentration of triglycerides in the sample.
