Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assay kit (Fluorometric, 0.09-10 μmol/L)

Specification

Description: Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assay kit (Fluorometric, 0.09-10 μmol/L) is an assay kit for the rapid and sensitive detection of TBARS in the range of 0.09-10 μmol/L.
Background: The body generates oxygen free radicals through enzymatic and non-enzymatic systems, which attack polyunsaturated fatty acids in biological membranes and induce lipid peroxidation, resulting in the formation of lipid peroxides. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is one of the common products of lipid peroxidation in organisms. It is a biomarker of lipid peroxidation, which can reflect the degree of lipid peroxidation in organisms and indirectly the degree of cellular damage.
Assay Principle: TBARS and TBA can react at high temperatures and under acidic conditions and then form a pink compound whose concentration is linearly related to the concentration of TBARS in the sample. The concentration of TBARS can be calculated by measuring the OD at 530-540 nm.
Assay Target: TBARS
Target Species: Universal
Research Area: Oxidative stress; Lipid peroxidation; Obesity research
