Description:
Rat adiponectin (ADP) ELISA kit (0.156-10 ng/mL, 0.039 ng/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing rat ADP levels with a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.039 ng/mL.
Background:
ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
Formula Weight:
26,414 Da
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates provided in this kit are pre-coated with an antibody specific for ADP. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells along with a biotin-conjugated ADP-specific antibody preparation, and HRP-conjugated avidin is added to each microtiter plate well and incubated. A TMB (3,3'5, 5'tetramethylbenzidine) substrate solution is then added to each well. Only wells containing ADP, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated avidin will show a color change. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulfuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of ADP in the sample is then determined by comparing the OD of the sample to a standard curve.
