Pyruvate assay kit (Colorimetric or fluorometric)

Specification

Description: Pyruvate assay kit (Colorimetric or fluorometric) is a metabolic assay kit for the rapid and sensitive detection of pyruvate.
Background: Pyruvate is a key intermediate in the cellular metabolic pathway. It can be converted to carbohydrates via gluconeogenesis, to fatty acids or energy via acetyl-CoA, and to the amino acids alanine and ethanol. Abnormal pyruvate levels are associated with liver disease and metabolic disorders. Simple, straightforward, and automated procedures for measuring pyruvate concentration have a wide range of applications in research and drug discovery.
Assay Type: Quantitative assay
Assay Principle: Pyruvate oxidase and hydrogen peroxide can be measured in one step using a single working reagent. The color intensity of the reaction product at 570nm or the fluorescence intensity at Ex/Em = 530/585nm is proportional to the pyruvate concentration in the sample.
Assay Target: Pyruvate
Target Species: Universal
Research Area: Glycolysis and carbohydrates; TCA cycle; Obesity research; Food safety and analysis; Amino acid and protein
Sample Type: Biological samples
Kit Components: Enzyme Mix; Dye reagent; Standard; Pyruvate
Detection Limit: 2 μM (OD); 0.2 μM (FL)
Reaction Time: 20 min
Stability: 6 Months
Applications: Pyruvate assay kit (Colorimetric or fluorometric) is used to detect pyruvate in biological samples, and evaluate of drugs on its metabolism.
Storage: Store at 2-8°C.
