Specification
Description:
Mouse agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (7-1500 ng/L) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing mouse AGRP levels with a detection range of 7-1500 ng/L and a sensitivity of 3.53 ng/L.
Background:
AGRP plays a role in body weight homeostasis, is involved in the control of eating behavior through the central melanocortin system, and acts as an inverse agonist of MC3R and MC4R, thereby inhibiting their constitutive activity. Genetic variants in AGRP may be responsible for obesity.
Formula Weight:
14,440 Da
Assay Principle:
The plate is pre-coated with mouse AGRP antibody. AGRP added to the sample binds to the antibody coated on the wells. Biotinylated mouse AGRP antibody is then added, which binds to AGRP in the sample. Streptavidin-HRP is then added to bind to the biotinylated AGRP antibody. After incubation, unbound streptavidin-HRP is washed out. The substrate solution is then added, and the color is developed in proportion to the amount of mouse AGRP. The reaction is terminated by the addition of an acidic termination solution, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
