Specification
Description:
Malondialdehyde (MDA) assay kit (2.92-40 μmol/L) is an assay kit for the rapid and sensitive detection of MDA in the range of 2.92-40 μmol/L.
Background:
The body produces oxygen-free radicals through enzymatic and non-enzymatic systems. Oxygen free radicals attack unsaturated fatty acids in biological membranes, leading to lipid peroxidation and the formation of peroxidized lipids such as aldehyde (MDA), ketone, hydroxyl, and carbonyl groups. These lipid peroxidation breakdown products cause damage to cells. Detection of MDA level can reflect the degree of lipid peroxidation in cells and indirectly reflect the degree of cellular damage.
Assay Principle:
MDA in the catabolite of lipid peroxide can react with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) to form a red compound with a maximum absorption peak at 532 nm.
