Specification
Description:
Human adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) CLIA kit is a CLIA kit assay for the detection of ACTH levels. The range of the assay is 3.9-1000 pg/mL.
Background:
ACTH is a polypeptide prohormone whose primary role is to increase the secretion and release of cortisol from the adrenal cortex, and is also associated with circadian rhythms in many organisms. Its abnormalities are associated with a variety of diseases, including obesity.
Formula Weight:
26,707 Da
Assay Type:
Competitive inhibition
Assay Principle:
The microtiter plates in this kit are pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for ACTH. A competitive inhibitory reaction occurs between biotin-labeled ACTH and unlabeled ACTH (standards or samples) and the pre-coated ACTH-specific antibody. After incubation, the unbound conjugate is washed away. Avidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is then added to each microtiter well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP is inversely proportional to the concentration of ACTH in the sample. A mixture of substrates A and B is then added to produce glow emission kinetics. After development, the intensity of the glow is inversely proportional to the amount of ACTH in the sample or standard.
Assay Target:
ACTH
Target Species:
Human
Research Area:
Hormone research; Circadian rhythm; Obesity
Sample Type:
Serum; Plasma; Tissue homogenates; Cell lysates; Cell culture supernates; Other biological fluids

CV<10%
Precision (Inter-assay):
CV<12%
Cross-reactivity:
No significant cross-reactivity or interference was observed.
Applications:
Human adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) CLIA kit is used to detect ACTH levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluid samples by chemiluminescent immunoassay.
