Specification
Description:
Chicken agouti-related protein (AGRP) ELISA kit (15.6-1000 pg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing chicken AGRP levels with a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5 pg/mL.
Background:
AGRP plays a role in body weight homeostasis, is involved in the control of eating behavior through the central melanocortin system, and acts as an inverse agonist of MC3R and MC4R, thereby inhibiting their constitutive activity. Genetic variants in AGRP may be responsible for obesity.
Formula Weight:
14,440 Da
Assay Principle:
The pre-coated antibody is a monoclonal antibody against chicken AGRP, and the detection antibody is a biotin-labeled polyclonal antibody. Samples and biotin-labeled antibodies are added to the ELISA plate wells and rinsed with PBS or TBS. Avidin-peroxidase conjugate is then sequentially added to the ELISA wells. The reactants are thoroughly rinsed with PBS or TBS and then colored with TMB substrate. TMB turns blue when catalyzed by peroxidase and finally turns yellow in the presence of acid. The shade of color is positively correlated with the detection factor in the sample.
