Description:
Bovine adiponectin (ADP) ELISA kit (3.125-50 μg/mL) is a ready-to-use ELISA kit for analyzing bovine ADP levels with a detection range of 3.125-50 μg/mL. Its sensitivityis less than 3.125 µg/mL.
Background:
ADP is an important adipokine involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, exhibiting antidiabetic, anti-atherosclerotic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It increases glucose utilization and fatty acid burning, stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in liver and skeletal muscle, and may play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling.
Formula Weight:
26,133 Da
Assay Principle:
The assay uses a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in the kit is pre-coated with an antibody specific for ADP. Standards or samples are added to the wells of the microtiter plate along with biotin-conjugated ADP, and a competitive inhibition reaction occurs between the ADP (standard or sample) and biotin-conjugated ADP and the pre-coated ADP-specific antibody. The higher the amount of ADP in the sample, the less the antibody, the biotin-conjugated ADP will bind. After washing, avidin-conjugated HRP is added to the wells. A substrate solution is added to the wells, and the color develops in proportion to the ADP content of the sample. The color development is stopped, and the color intensity is measured.
